Our story

From pediatric nurse to Sunny Side founder

Before Sunny Side, I spent my early career as a pediatric nurse in my home country. When I became a mother for the first time, the only child care options nearby were large, impersonal facilities — and like so many new parents, I couldn't shake the worry of not knowing how my child was really being cared for during the day. To stay close to my little one, I took a nursing job inside the daycare she attended. That experience shaped everything that came next.

In 2011, our family moved to the United States, and in 2013, Sunny Side Family Child Care was born. I built it to be the place my younger self would have wanted for her own child — a private, home-like environment where children are safe, genuinely known, and nourished with home-cooked meals made by people who truly care.

For more than 13 years, that mission hasn't changed. Sunny Side is a second home: a warm, loving space where children play, learn, and grow together — and where parents can breathe easy knowing their child is in caring hands.

“I didn’t start Sunny Side because I wanted to open a daycare. I started it because I wanted to create the kind of place I wished existed for my own daughter.”
